Privacy statement

This statement covers this website and nothing else. The site sets no cookie, loads nothing from any other company and has one form. Below is what happens to the answers you send us with the form, and to the data the web server handles.

Who is responsible

The AI Guys, a firm in the Netherlands, decides why and how personal data is handled on this site. The law calls that the controller. Write to us about anything in this statement at contact@theaiguys.com.

This table is wider than a small screen. Scroll it sideways to read every column.

The site handles no other personal data. It does not count visits with a script. The page How we count visits says exactly what is recorded.

How the form works

The site has one form, named “Tell us what you want to build”. It is on the page for the free briefing.

The form asks five questions about your project: what you want to build or improve, your organisation, the kind of data involved and where it may go, the AI tools you use today, and your role. Only the first question is required; every other answer, your name and your telephone number are optional.

When you press its button, your answers are stored on the server of our hosting company, TransIP, in the Netherlands, outside the public part of the site. Then your own email program opens with a new email to contact@theaiguys.com that holds a private link to your answers. We learn of your answers only when you press send there.

Anyone with this link can read your answers: you, and the firm once you have sent the email. The page the link opens has a button that deletes your answers at once. You can also ask us to delete them.

You are not obliged to give us anything. We send the free briefing to the address your email comes from. Please send no client data and no personal data about other people. We ask what kind of information you handle, not the information itself.

Who receives the data

  • TransIP, a hosting company in the Netherlands, runs the web server, stores your answers to the form and keeps the access logs. It handles data on our behalf as a processor.
  • Google provides the mailbox of the firm, through Google Workspace, and stores the email that carries the link to your answers. It handles data on our behalf as a processor.

Nobody else receives your data from us, unless a law obliges us to hand it over.

We sell nothing. We use nothing for advertising. We make no profiles, and we take no automated decisions about you.

Where the data is

The site and your stored answers are on the servers of TransIP in the Netherlands. The email itself goes from your own email program to the mailbox of the firm. Google provides that mailbox through Google Workspace, set to store its data in the EU. Where Google processes data elsewhere, the safeguards in its data processing terms for Google Workspace apply.

One part is outside our control. The email you send passes through your own email provider, which keeps your copy wherever it keeps your mail.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • show you the data we hold about you;
  • correct it;
  • delete it;
  • limit what we do with it;
  • give you the data you sent us in a common file format.

You can also object to our use of your data where it rests on our legitimate interest.

To use any of these rights, write to contact@theaiguys.com. You need no form and you need give no reason. We answer within one month, as the law requires. We may ask a question first to make sure the request comes from you.

You can complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, the data protection authority of the Netherlands, at any time.
